Tonight we met up with friends to explore the world of rock climbing. I've been exploring rock climbing options for Elena since she loves to climb so much. All the lessons and camps are for 7 and up but in a conversation with Nicole, I found out there is no minimum age at the rock climbing open gym. So here we are...Elena and Nicole chalking up :)
Elena just getting started. Side note: notice the braid? She just started letting me braid her hair yesterday due to the gummy pool water hair she now has. We're working on getting that chlorine out but I'm happy it has lead us to being able to work with her hair. Yay for her first braid!
Carl was connected to Elena. He took up the slack as she climbed higher and let out slack when she was coming down. If she came off the wall, he would catch her so she didn't fall to the floor.
Strong and flexible!
Working on coming down. This was the hardest part for Elena.
Proud of herself and asking to go up again, of course :)
Look at these monkeys go. I don't think either Elena or Emma are afraid of heights. It was amazing watching them scurry up the wall.
Chalking up for one last climb up a more difficult inverted wall. The girls had so much fun. We were there for 2 hours and they climbed until their limbs were exhausted. We took a break in the middle but these girls are amazing. Better believe we'll be back maybe Carl and I will climb a bit also :)
Such a little monkey!
ReplyDeleteWow! Elena looks like a pro climber. Good for her!
