Safari Park!

During most of April, the Safari Park has a Butterfly Exhibit.  It gives us a great excuse to get up there and use our Zoo/Park passes :)
 Tailed Jay
 Giant Owl
Elena was so excited to see a Monarch.  She is holding a butterfly identification card.
This is a Common Blue Morpho.  When he opens his wings to fly, he is bright blue.
 Elena identifying my butterfly.
A Banded Purple Wing landed on Carl's shoulder.
Charlie and his first butterfly encounter!  This Common Blue Morpho liked my hand; a guide had to remove him.
We went to see the gorillas.  A baby was being held in it's mama's arms, maybe nursing, tucked away inside the cave.  A couple of younger guys were wrestling around.
Taking a break and messing around.
Elena and Carl hanging around as bats!
 We saw the Asian Elephants...
 ...and the African Elephants.
 And a male lion!!
At the overlook, Elena saw rhinos, ostrich like birds, giraffes and a few other animals.
 Looking out from the overlook.
Elena looking up at space...maybe our next adventure should be to the telescope :)  Carl is pointing out the town Ramona.
Everyone had a great time!
