Garden: Week 7

Such excitement in the garden this week, Elena was over the moon!  What did she spot?
Corn flowers!  Beautiful, isn't it?  We have 24 corn plants and 7 are flowering with others shortly behind.
We caught a couple of ladybugs on the sunflower plants.  Yay, more beneficial insects!
 Just gorgeous!
One of the cherry tomato plants has blooms with a beefsteak plant nearly blooming.  We have two of each plant.  I'm so looking forward to homegrown tomatoes.  Last year our seeds didn't grow, this is so exciting to have plants from seed we planted.
Marigolds are getting ready to bloom and Nasturtiums are blooming too.
Beautiful watermelon plants (I'm working on the weeds but they are very persistent)

**Video** Here is a link of Elena checking out our fruit trees:  http://youtu.be/Fp7FXK5KwTw

We've been enjoying spinach, lettuce, snap peas (don't even make it inside the house), cilantro and strawberries from the garden.
Elena enjoys eating right from the garden and making herself a salad.
Her salad consists of cucumber from the market, freshly picked lettuce and a strawberry on top.
She ate every morsel :)
