Oktoberfest!

A neighboring town hosts an Oktoberfest around this time of year.  It's nice to get out and enjoy fair food :)  We hoped on the trolley and met friends for great food, beer, and people watching.

Elena's first trolley ride.  She loved pointing at the airplanes.  We get on the trolley at a small air field, thus there were small planes parked not too far from the trolley stop.

We've arrived...and it was a little warm but soon we were in the mix of people and heading to the family beer garden.  Only the family garden will allow people of all ages with or without ID.  Carl and I split a brat, kraut, German potato salad, potato pancakes and a couple of beers while watching dancers perform.  Not too much later, we ran across a funnel cake stand.  I used to prefer an elephant ear to a funnel cake any day but now the funnel cake stands seem to stock the cinnamon sugar in addition to the traditional powdered sugar.  We all chowed down, even Elena (a first for her).  Who couldn't pass up cinnamon sugar sprinkled funnel cake?

On the trolley ride home, Elena is showing her tongue.  Unlike most other kids I know, if you ask her where her tongue is she will open her mouth and point to it.  I guess it is good she hasn't learned to stick it out yet :)

Elena is so happy to be on her feet again.  Have I mentioned she likes to run?
