Today the science museum was free (Free Tuesdays for San Diego County residents, the participating museums rotate each week)! Since Charlie was up at 5:30, he had napped and we were ready to go early so off to the museum we went :)
We explored energy generation and use with a hand crank. Much more difficult than a bike at the DuPage Science Center. There were also several interactive diagrams about water and usage.
We explored the galaxy on this computer. You could zoom in/out, rotate the view and jump to specific planets. It was super neat.
The Aurora Tube was awesome. You tinkered with the voltage and the air lock (Elena's hand is on it) and the tube would light up with different colors or fade out.
Who doesn't love balancing a ball on an airstream?
I could look at hands under these metal rods all day...I just love them.
The museum was a bit crowded, not only were there a ton of people taking advantage of the free admission, there were several school groups there also. We took a break and walked outside to see the fountain and Elena was pleasantly surprised with bubbles!
After chasing and popping bubbles, we headed back to the car for a snacky picnic in the back end. Here is a picture of an apple off our tree.
It was delicious. Sweet with a little tangy and crunchy. Freshly picked this morning, yum!
Happy boy!
Pistachio clams...they talk, ya know?
A couple hours at the museum and Charlie is out like a light. He even slept through the fire engines, though the racing motorbike was annoying loud and woke him from this peaceful slumber.
