Disneyland: Our 1st trip

Today Carl and I woke up before dawn, shuffled both kids into the car and began driving to Disneyland at 5am.  It was one of the busiest days of the year and we wanted to take advantage of the few minutes of quiet just as the parks open.
While we waited for everyone to get strollers, wheel chairs, etc. Elena and I walked around the square.  Of course everything is decked out in Christmas gear.  Elena really wanted to eat the huge sugar cookie.  It did look yummy.
We were in the square when the characters came out for the day.  Chip and Dale were so fun and playful; Elena loved them!
Donald was love!
For Corin too!
Mickey is always a favorite!
The only hug Elena gave out :)
Shooting at the bad guys in Buzz Lightyear
Autotopia ride with Daddy
Waiting in line for Nemo's Submarine ride
Inside the sub
Going down....think Charlie's expression says it all :)
Getting ready for the Star Tours 3D ride with cousins
We went to Disneyland with a lot of Carl's family...both his brothers, their families, his dad, grandma, aunt, uncle, cousins and a second cousin.  We were a large group.  Most of the day we were split in smaller groups but we met for meals and the Jungle Cruise.
The Jungle Cruise was by far Charlie's favorite ride.  He loved the trees and animals.  He was extremely engaged and really paying attention.  So cute to see his interest.
Well, we keep trying to get a decent family photo...no success yet :)
It's a Small World.  Unfortunately, we were unable to ride this one...the line was 4 hours every time we passed by.  Who would wait for 4 hours?!?  Definitely not someone with kids!
Sleeping Beauty's castle lit up at night.  It was beautiful.
And this is what 12 hours at Disneyland does to Elena...she is zonked.
Despite being one of the busiest days of the year (and you know Carl and I are not fans of crowds), we had a great time.  I do look forward to going back sometime when it isn't so crowded.
